KFC, Chick-Fil-A Both Opening In Washington Heights On 181st
181st Street is about to add two new fast food options, with a KFC and Chick-fil-A outpost. Here's what we know.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The 181st Street corridor in Washington Heights is about to get a serious influx in fast food chicken options.
Chick-fil-A is "opening soon" at 601 West 181st Street, and Kentucky Fried Chicken is in the process of opening after signage for the food chain recently went up on Broadway and West 181st Street.
Chick-fil-A has a section on its website that highlights the locations "coming soon". The future restaurant opening section includes a storefront at 601 West 181st Street.

Chick-fil-A did not immediately respond to Patch's request for more details about the opening.

The fast-food restaurant has received heavy criticism in the past for donating to anti-LGBTQ organizations. It also does not open on Sundays.
KFC will open a short walk away at Broadway and West 181st Street.

KFC confirmed to Patch on Tuesday that a KFC is opening at 4250 Broadway and West 180th Street. The franchise is targeting a mid-late December opening, but the final date is not set.
There were mixed reactions from Upper Manhattan residents about the incoming KFC, but many people did bring up old KFC locations on Dyckman, at Wadsworth and 181st Street, and on Broadway in the West 170s that closed over the years.
