Man Shot In The Chest And Killed In Washington Heights: Police

Early on Friday morning, a man was shot and killed at the intersection of West 177th Street and Wadsworth Avenue, police said.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Not two hours after Thanksgiving ended, a man was shot in the chest and killed in Washington Heights early Friday morning, police said.

The shooting took place around 1:41 a.m. at the intersection of West 177th Street and Wadsworth Avenue, police said.

NYPD officers arrived to find an unresponsive man lying on the street with a bullet wound. He was quickly taken to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

No arrests have been made, but a gun was recovered from the scene.
