Man Shot On Washington Heights Street After Argument, Police Say

The victim was shot three times and is expected to survive.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A man was shot three times Tuesday night on a Washington Heights street after getting into an argument with a group of people, police said.

The man was arguing with three men and a woman on the corner of West 189th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue shortly before 9 p.m. when one of the people he was arguing with opened fire, police said. The man, who was not identified, was shot in the left hand, right leg and the chest, police said.

EMS rushed the man to a local hospital, police said. The victim is expected to survive his injuries, police said.

The four people involved in the argument fled the scene in a dark ford sedan with New Jersey licence plates, an NYPD spokeswoman said. The suspects have not been identified and the investigation remains ongoing, the spokesman said.
