Mentally Ill Father Goes Missing In Washington Heights: NYPD

Rhony Ramos, 30, hasn't been seen since leaving his home on Nov. 28.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A Washington Heights father suffering from mental illness has not been seen or heard from in more than two weeks, police said.

Rhony Ramos was last seen Wednesday, Nov. 28 after leaving his home on West 175th Street around 6:20 a.m. to go to work, police said. The man — who suffers from schizophrenia and has expressed thoughts of self harm — did not show up to his job, police said.

The man's family held a vigil in Washington Heights and expressed fears that police were not prioritizing Ramos' case, the Manhattan Times reported. Elsa Franco, the missing man's sister, said that the family is "devastated" and that Ramos' two young children are worried for their father.
