New 6-Story Building Coming To Washington Heights: What To Know
A three-story building at 1986 Amsterdam Ave. will be replaced with a six-story mixed-use building, according to new permits.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A new six-story mixed-use building will replace a three-story building in Washington Heights, according to new permits and first reported by New York YIMBY.
The incoming larger building will be constructed at 1986 Amsterdam Ave., which is in between West 158th and 159th streets.
The proposed building is 63-feet tall, and will contain 10,606 square-feet, permits show. A total of 8,135 of which will be used for residential space, and 2,471 square-feet will be used for commercial space, permits show.

The new building is expected to have 10 apartments. Ameriland Brook is the architect of record.
There have not been any demolition permits filed yet for the three-story building at the address, and there is not an announced completion date.

The Washington Heights building is currently home to the Jase Tax accounting firm, which replaced a taco eatery at the address sometime between 2015 and 2016.
