Pair Of Fires Hit Upper Manhattan Residential Buildings: FDNY
Over 120 firefighters responded to flames at 500 West 190th Street and 1 Arden Street Tuesday night and early Wednesday, FDNY told Patch.

UPPER MANHATTAN, NY — Two blazes broke out hours apart in Upper Manhattan Tuesday night and Wednesday morning that saw more than 120 firefighters rush to residential buildings in Washington Heights and Inwood.
The first took place around 8:27 p.m. within a six-story building at 500 West 190th Street, FDNY said.
More than 70 firefighters responded to the multiple floor blaze, but the units were able to put it out quickly, FDNY said.

There were no injuries reported.

A nearby neighbor of 500 West 190th Street told Patch that the landlord rushed to the building immediately, and had a full staff working to clean out the water, board up the windows, and help residents get wet belongings.

Representatives from Council Member Carmen De La Rosa's office also responded to the scene.
The FDNY is still investigating how the flames broke out.
Around five hours later, a different blaze broke out in Inwood at 1 Arden Street.
The flames also ignited within multiple floors of a six-story building, which 60 firefighters worked to put out between 1:37 and 2:11 a.m.
There were no injuries, and the FDNY is still investigating what started the fire.
