Popular Washington Heights Noodle Shop Welcomes Acclaimed Chef
Native Noodles, near West 166th Street, is breaking out a special menu for two weeks in October for the Singapore Food Festival.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Native Noodles, a Singaporean restaurant in Washington Heights that has found quick success in the neighborhood since opening in February 2021, is collaborating with an acclaimed Singapore-based chef starting Monday as part of the Singapore Food Festival.
Chef and founder Amy Pryke will work with the visiting chef Jeremy Cheok to create a special menu as part of the festival's line-up of events in New York City, and also offer the new dishes from the Washington Heights storefront at 2129 Amsterdam Avenue from Tuesday to Oct. 17.
Cheok is an award-winning restauranteur and executive chef in Singapore.

The featured dishes will include the following:
- Cornflake Shrimp Paste Chicken Lollipops (Har Cheong Gai), $10
- Frenched chicken drumettes marinated in umami prawn paste, coated with seasoned cornflakes and fried Chili Crab Fat Fried Rice, $13
- An indulgent take on Singapore’s iconic Chili Crab dish • Singapore-style Hokkien Mee, $16 - A beloved local noodle dish made with a mix of yellow and rice noodles braised in a rich, aromatic shrimp and pork stock with scrambled eggs and seafood
The new menu items will be available for both take-out and dine-in.

Upon opening, Native Noodles quickly began turning heads in the culinary community. In May, the eatery's roti john sandwich received a rave review from Eater New York's critic Ryan Sutton as one of the best you can get in the city.
Two months later, Native Noodles was named by the same publication as one of the best new Manhattan eateries of the year.
Pryke opened the restaurant after graduating from Columbia Business School in 2019 and running a popular pop-up restaurant at the Queens Night Market.
