Subway Surfing Suspected After Man Dies On Uptown A Train: NYPD

Police said the man was standing between two train cars when he died.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A man was killed on Friday night while standing between two subway cars on a southbound A train, police said.

The man, 29, was fatally wounded on Friday night at about 5:18 p.m. while he was traveling outside of the subway cars on a southbound A train, an NYPD spokesman told Patch. Police are investigating the possibility that the man was "subway surfing" on the outside of the train cars, he said.

The man was fatally injured near the 168th Street station. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
