WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A 68-year-old woman is recovering in the hospital after she was hit by a moped while she was walking down a sidewalk in Washington Heights on Wednesday, a police spokesperson told Patch.

She was walking on Broadway and West 196th Street around 12:30 p.m. when a group of mopeds whizzed by her on the sidewalk, with one of the scooters striking her in the back, according to NBC.
