GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — A seemingly endless number of restaurants serve brunch in New York City, but have you ever wondered which city eateries do the best job at it?
Eater NY recently put together a list of the 15 best brunch spots in New York City, and two West Village restaurants made the list.
Those two local restaurants are Breakfast by Salt's Cure at 27 1/2 Morton Street and Jack's Wife Freda at 50 Carmine Street.

At Breakfast by Salt's Cure, the editors from Eater NY said it's best known for its griddle cakes, which are "ostensibly, thinner and sweeter pancakes — served with sides of eggs and sausage, but never maple syrup."
The Los Angles brunch chain is an all-day breakfast spot that also serves up some non-pancake, including a breakfast sandwich and home fries.

Jack's Wife Freda also has multiple locations, but the eatery at 50 Carmine Street was specifically picked out by the Eater NY editors as one of the city's best brunch spots.
"The Middle Eastern-leaning restaurant serves a stellar rendition of shakshuka — which is green thanks to its tomatillos — served with two soft-baked eggs and a side of challah bread, aromatic rosewater waffles dolloped with Lebanese yogurt, and its Mediterranean breakfast platter with labne, avocado, and pita," writes the editors from Eater NY.
The first Jack's Wife Freda location opened in 2011.
The restaurant was opened by husband and wife team Dean and Maya, who both worked at multiple downtown establishments before opening their own eatery.
It is named after Dean's grandparents.
