Off-Duty NYPD Officer Cuffed In West Village Brawl: Police
Officer Carlos Pereyra was arrested and charged after getting into a fight and resisting arrest Saturday night, officials said.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — An off-duty NYPD cop was cuffed just after midnight on Saturday after getting into a brawl and resisting an arrest by his peers, according to officials.
Carlos Pereyra, 26, was arrested at 12:40 a.m. on University Place after getting into a fight with an unknown man, police said.
Cops said that when they showed up to arrest their brawling coworker, Pereyra resisted arrest.

According to the New York Post, the man Pereyra was fighting with was brought by first responders to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
Officials charged Pereyra with assault, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration, police said.
