Ex-Employees Of 'World's Best Restaurant' Open West Village Eatery

Former employees of Eleven Madison Park opened Noortwyck on Tuesday at 289 Bleecker St. Here's what to know.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A pair of former employees at the world's No. 1 ranked restaurant opened an eatery on Tuesday in the West Village.

Chef Andrew Quinn and sommelier Cedric Nicaise are heading Noortwyck at 289 Bleecker St.

Both men worked at Eleven Madison Park, where Quinn was the executive sous chef and Nicaise was the director of operations.

Eleven Madison Park was named the best restaurant in the world in 2017 by the annual World's 50 Best.

Noortwych is the Dutch word for "North District" as the restaurant sits on what was once the northern tract of New Amsterdam.

The menu is broken down into four sections: dinner, wine, cocktails and desserts.

Dinner options include scallop crudo, tuna tartare, burrata, BBQ duck breast, smoked hangar steak, a whole roasted chicken, and more.

The cocktails will run you $17 a drink, while the wine list has over 250 options.

The inside of the restaurant has 70 seats, including 12 at the bar, reported TimeOut.

It is currently open for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m., but plans to expand its hours later in the summer.
