Greenwich Village Bar Named One Of America's Best

Esquire named Slowly Shirley, the downstairs neighbor to Greenwich Village's The Happiest Hour, one of America's best.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — Slowly Shirley, a hidden old-Hollywood style bar in Greenwich Village, was named one of America's best by Esquire magazine on Thursday.

The thoughtfully decorated bar, located at 121 W. 10th St., has a menu and a vibe that points back to the glamour of 1940s Hollywood. The entrance to Slowly Shirley is hidden just inside the doors of The Happiest Hour, the sister bar of Shirley located at street level.

Esquire listed it as one of America's 24 best bars in 2017, and recommended the "absurdly expensive" $30 martini. Here's the complete drinks menu.
