Greenwich Village Pizzeria Named 11th Best In The World

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — Greenwich Village pizzerias are no strangers to lofty rankings, but it is still special when a local joint gets named among the best pizzerias in the world.

50 Top Pizza, which serves as a guide to the best pizzerias in the world, recently released its annual list of the best joints in the seven continents.

Without further ado, Ribalta NYC, at 48 E. 12th St., was named the 11th best pizzeria in the world.

It was the third highest ranked pizzeria in the United States, with only Una Pizza Napoletana on the Lower East Side and Tony's Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco coming in ahead of it.

"Rosario and Pasquale have brought Naples into the heart of New York to make you experience a one-of-a-kind taste: to taste the true Neapolitan pizza," reads an About section on Ribalta's website. "Forget all that you have known about pizza so far.
