Iconic West Village Diner To Re-Open At Hands Of 'Queer Eye' Star
The Village Den shuttered after 36 years in the West Village. Now a Netflix star aims to reboot the classic diner with a new twist.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A star of the hit Netflix show Queer Eye aims to open a "fast-casual" reboot of the classic West Village diner Village Den, food website Eater first reported.
Foodie Antoni Porowski plans to overhaul the West 12th Street and Greenwich Avenue diner, which shuttered May after more than 36 years in the neighborhood, with a menu emphasizing wholesome comfort food, he said at a recent panel discussion on the Upper East Side.
“I’m all about, like, cheese and pork belly and decadence, and as a result of the increased vanity of being on camera all the time and working out and eating healthy, I’m developing a fast-casual food concept restaurant that I’m gonna be opening here in New York,” Porowski said during a panel at the 92nd Street Y.

Porowski aims to open his twist on the West Village classic in September.
