Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
FDNY Firefighter Dante Mazzetti has been working tirelessly on the front lines during the Covid-19 pandemic - most recently working 24 hour shifts every other day. Though exhausted from his shifts, Mazzetti is spending his nights off doing his part to keep up the morale of people around the world by performing live concerts on Facebook and Instagram. Not only is Mazzetti a decorated firefighter, he is also a rising star in the American Roots music scene. He was recently named one of the "Top Prospects" to watch by Music Connection Magazine. He started playing the live concerts on a whim one day as an escape from the harsh reality of working the on the front lines of a growing pandemic. It turned out that his music is a welcome escape for tens of thousands of people around the world too.
Mazzetti will host his “My Corner of New York Series” from his Manhattan balcony each night at 7pm EDT (except for the nights he’s working at the firehouse). There is no cost to view these concerts. What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Dante is a super human. He is a selfless firefighter, talented musician, and incredibly loving father and husband. I don't know how he does it all, but countless people message him everyday to thank him for helping them out in one way or another. He gives so much of himself.
