Magnolia Bakery Plans 200 Locations Nationwide: Report
The NYC bakery made famous by "Sex and the City" is planning to add 200 new locations around the country.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — New York City's popular Magnolia Bakery is planning a massive nationwide expansion over the next five years, according to a new report.
The cupcake parlor is looking to open 200 new locations around the country over the next five years, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The bakery first opened in the West Village in 1996, and has since become a tourist destination after being featured on "Sex and the City" and other NYC-based films and movies.

Magnolia co-owner Steve Abrams told the Journal that the bakery is looking to open in about 50 of the top markets in the country, with three locations in each. Last year, the company's annual revenue was $45 million, company officials told the Journal.
Magnolia has already opened in several cities around the country, as well as multiple internationally. There are currently locations in Boston, Los Angeles and Chicago.
