Man Goes On West Village Burglary Spree, Police Say
The thief has hit 15 buildings in Lower Manhattan and stolen $2,500 worth of packages, police said.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Police are searching for a man who is wanted in connection to more than a dozen burglaries across Lower Manhattan including a handful in the West Village.
The thief rings apartment building doorbells to gain entry, once he makes his way inside he ransacks packages left in vestibules or outside apartment doors. He has struck at least 15 buildings between January 21 and July 7, police said.
The thief has swiped $2,500 worth of packages from buildings in the Financial District, the West Village, the East Village and Chelsea.

Police describe the man as 30-to-50-years-old, often wearing a baseball cap and dark colored clothing. He typically carries a large bag to store stolen goods.
