McNally Jackson to Open Second Stationary Store in Greenwich Village
The independent bookseller is opening a second stationary shop in the city, capitalizing on the popularity of their SoHo location.
GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — McNally Jackson has carved out a very successful spot in a tough independent booksellers market. They've been so successful that owner Sarah McNally is set to open the city's second "Goods for the Study" stationary store in the Village. And a second bookstore location might not be far behind.
McNally told Patch that she will be opening a second "Goods for the Study" location in Greenwich Village at 50 W. 8th St. A listing from the end of August shows the 1,400-square-foot spot was on the market for $17,500 a month. Real Estate Weekly reports they signed the deal on Sept. 1.
But McNally's retail empire may not be stopping with a second stationary store. McNally told Patch on Thursday she is shopping for a location to open a second bookstore and cafe, also in Greenwich Village.

McNally Jackson opened its original location in SoHo in 2004 at 52 Prince St. The bookstore includes a cafe, and an Espresso Book Machine, for authors to publish their own books. According to the New York Business Journal, they print about 700 books per month.
McNally's first "Goods for the Study" store is located at 234 Mulberry St., right around the corner from her bookstore. This second location will be much larger than the first, though.
