Stranger Drops Gun In Man's Backpack On L Train Platform: NYPD
Two indecisive gun owners tried to bizarrely abandon a black semi-automatic handgun in a L train rider's backpack.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A handgun plopped into an unsuspecting subway rider's backpack Wednesday night on a West Village L train platform — then a struggle ensued when the original owners decided they wanted the firearm back, reported the New York Post.
A 33-year-old man was waiting for a train at the 14th Street and Sixth Avenue L train platform at 8:30 p.m. when he felt a heavy item drop into his backpack, police sources told The Post.
The newspaper reported that the man spun around to find two men walking behind him and when he looked inside his backpack he discovered a black semi-automatic handgun.

Suddenly, the two men decided they wanted the gun back and a struggled ensued. The backpack's owner was able to break free of his two attackers and ran to the NYPD's nearby Transit District 4 station, sources told The Post.
Police are searching for the two men and the gun will be tested to determine if it is connected to any crimes or individuals, the tabloid reported.
