Video Shows Men Who Choked Owner Of Silvano's Restaurant, Police Say
The NYPD released surveillance footage and descriptions of the two men suspected of attacking and robbing Silvano Marchetto on Sunday.
GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY —Video footage of two men suspected of choking and robbing famed Greenwich Village restaurateur Silvano Marchetto has been released by police.
The attack just after midnight on Sunday left the former owner of Da Silvano's with a fractured trachea, police said.
Police said the 70-year-old was in the lobby of a Sixth Avenue apartment building when the two men approached him. One put him in a chokehold while the other took about $1,812 in cash, according to a statement from police. Marchetto was treated at a hospital for his injured trachea.

The NYPD released footage and physical descriptions of the suspects on Wednesday.
Da Silvano's closed last year after four decades at 260 Sixth Avenue. The owner blamed high rents, according to a New York Times article.
