The NYPD's Tricked-Out Gay Pride Cruiser Is All Kinds Of Fabulous
The NYPD has a rainbow police cruiser specifically for Sunday's Pride March.
GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — The NYPD's gay pride cruiser is back for its second year in a row, ready to cruise through Sunday's Pride March in a renovated version of the department's usual cruiser.
The Gay Officers Action League of the NYPD released video footage of the tricked-out cruiser, which swaps the NYPD's normal color palette and decals for an LGBTQ-focused design. The vehicle, which was first used in 2016, is created using temporary decals that are removed after the march, an NYPD spokesperson told Patch. The car also swaps the NYPD's usual vehicle slogan — courtesy, professionalism, respect — for a Pride-centric one: pride, equality, peace.
