NYU Masters Student Named National Scholars Program Recipient
A New York University student has been named as one of the recipients of the 2021 National Scholars Program.

WEST VILLAGE, NY – A New York University student has been named as one of the recipients of the 2021 National Scholars Program through the James Beard Foundation.
The National Scholars Program provides scholarships of $20,000 each to 12 food-focused individuals who plan to pursue an education in the culinary arts, food studies, agriculture and hospitality management.
One awardee was selected from each of the 12 geographic regions: California, Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Mountain, New York State, Northeast, Northwest & Pacific, South, Southeast, Southwest and Texas.

Awardee Abby Katz, who is earning her master's degree in food studies with a focus on food policy and history at New York University, plans to pursue her doctorate in food policy, history and health equity.
