Pad Thai Take-Out Restaurant Opens In Greenwich Village

A new take-out and delivery-only restaurant in Greenwich Village just opened with a focus on serving the "ultimate" version of Pad Thai.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — A new take-out and delivery-only Pad Thai restaurant opened Wednesday in Greenwich Village with the goal of serving the "ultimate version of Thailand's national dish."

Pad Thaimee is located at 116 West Houston Street, and take-out is now available through TOCK. The restaurant says that delivery will be available soon through DoorDash.

The restaurant is run by Chef Hong Thaimee, a native of Chiang Mai, Thailand, and an internationally celebrated chef who most recently ran a pop-up restaurant in the West Village.

“My goal is to make the best Pad Thai you’ve ever tasted,” Thaimee said in a news release. ”I have vivid childhood memories of going to the night market in Thailand and smelling the caramelization of the palm sugar, noodles, and eggs drifting from the woks of Pad Thai all the way down the street.”

Pad Thaimee's menu showcases five signature noodle and rice dishes:

  • Pad Thai ($15): rice noodles, chicken, pickled turnips, bean sprouts, Chinese chives, peanuts, lime
  • Zucchini Noodle Pad Thai ($15): Zucchini, tofu, eggs, pickled turnips, beansprouts, Chinese chives, peanuts, lime
  • Pad Kee Mao ($15): spicy "drunken" noodles, shrimp, young peppercorn, makrut lime leaves, garlic, chili jam, Thai basil, Thaimee Love secret sauce
  • Green Curry Fried Rice ($15): soft-shell crab, housemade green curry, roasted Japanese eggplant, long chili, Thai basil
  • Fried Rice With Chinese Broccoli And Anchovies ($15): Blue Jasmine rice, Chinese broccoli, tofu, anchovies, egg

Drinks

  • Thai Iced Tea ($5 per bottle)
  • Blue Lemongrass Iced Tea ($5 per bottle)

The restaurant is open for orders Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 5 to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
