Popular Caribbean Restaurant Opening West Village Location: Report

Omar's Kitchen and Rum Bar is opening a location this fall at 394 West St., reported the Commercial Observer.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A popular Caribbean eatery is opening its doors in the West Village this fall, as first reported by the Commercial Observer.

Omar's Kitchen and Rum Bar will open its second Manhattan location at 394 West St., after two years of successfully running its first location on the Lower East Side.

The restaurant serves up dishes such as hibiscus poached pear salad, coco bread lamb sliders, scallops, chicken wings, peppered tiger prawns, curry oxtail, jerk chicken, deep-fried branzino, and bread pudding.

Omar's Kitchen and Rum Bar signed a lease on the new West Village building for 10 years, with an option for an additional five years, according to the Commercial Observer.

The new building is adjacent to the West Side Highway, and will be taking over the space from the former restaurant Bongo.

Omar's Kitchen and Rum Bar did not immediately return Patch's request for comment.
