Ever since Japan’s Edo period (1600 to 1867 BC), Miso has been known to be both healthy and flavorful, and it has been loved for generations, since then," reads a section on Ramen Misoya's website. "Miso is made up of soybeans, rice or barley and salt. Miso itself is made through the process of fermentation or letting the ingredients sit through for a set period of time.
