WEST VILLAGE, NY — The dog days of summer are coming to the West Village.

A pop-up canine playground awash with lovable rescue dogs will wag its way to 15 Seventh Avenue this September. Dog lovers can bring their own four legged friends or play with pups up for adoption at the "Human's Best Friend" pooch pop-up for just over a month.

It's a pup paradise with a a purpose, said the pop-up's founders.

“As lifelong dog lovers, we’re thrilled to unleash our vision for a canine-centric experience that’s both fun
and purposeful,” said co-founders Brian Tovar and Jason Sherwood in a joint statement. “Human’s Best Friend aims to surprise and delight both pets and owners, and also shine a light on the joys of adopting rescues."

Canine lovers can explore a backyard with Technicolor grass and a picket fence, scale "Paw Print Hill" or romp around a "pop-color dream" dog house. The centerpiece is a "Water Bowl" — a pool filled to the brim with blue tennis balls.

Dogs can also cut loose in the toy pit or indulge in the bone yard packed flood to ceiling with dog bones.

Those without their own furry friend can get to know pups from half a dozen local rescue groups with staff on hand to discuss the adoption process.

Tickets for the puppy pop-up are available online Aug. 20, running $29 per a person or $39 for a dog and their owner, with ten percent of the profits going toward participating rescue organizations including Second Chance Rescue, Animal Haven and Bideawee.

Children under two can enjoy the dog wonderland for free.

Human's Best Friend opens Sept. 15 until Nov. 12, open Wednesdays and Thursdays from noon to 9 p.m.
