ICYMI: Robber Attacks 74-Year-Old Man Outside Greenwich Village Apartment, Police Say

The man was punched repeatedly outside his apartment building on Wednesday night, according to police.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — A robber attacked a 74-year-old man on Wednesday night, punching him repeatedly in the face, outside the man's Greenwich Village apartment building, police said.

An unidentified man, who police believe to be in his 40s, approached the man on Wednesday as he was entering his apartment building, located on Horatio Street near Greenwich Street, the NYPD said in a statement. The attacker punched the man multiple times in the face before grabbing his wallet, which was holding about $400 in cash and multiple credit cards, according to authorities. Emergency responders took the 74-year-old to the hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
