WEST VILLAGE, NY — The NYU Class of 2022 has officially graduated, Taylor Swift is technically a doctor, and more than 60,000 people tuned in to watch the music superstar deliver her commencement speech.
"I'd like to thank NYU, technically, on paper at least, for making me a doctor," Swift said during her speech. "Not the type of doctor you’d want around in case of an emergency, unless your specific emergency is that you desperately needed to hear a song, with a catchy hook and intensely cathartic bridge section.”

"I am 90 percent sure I am here because I have a song called '22'", Swift said in reference to the graduation year aligning with her hit single.

The music pop star kept her speech centered around showing enthusiasm for life, not worrying about being too cool, giving thanks to the people that support you through life, and learning from the mistakes you make along the way.
She also made sure to emphasize the importance of developing a healthy relationship with "cringe."

“You get to pick what your life has time and room for. Be discerning," Swift said. "Learn to live alongside cringe. No matter how hard you try to avoid being cringe, you will look back at your life and cringe retrospectively. Never be ashamed of trying."

More than 60,000 people tuned in to watch the NYU livestream of the ceremony, with the majority of the comment section showering love on Swift.
"Hurry up Taylor," one person commented as the different schools were being introduced.
"Please be respectful to the other graduates," another person fired back.
"So proud of her (Swift)," multiple people commented.

She did not sing.
The ceremony for the pandemic delayed graduating classes of 2020 and 2021 will happen later on Wednesday.
