Teen Arrested After Driving Thru Protesters In Greenwich Village
Justin Burgos, 18, was arrested after driving through protesters Wednesday night at Bleecker Street and West 10th Street, police said.
GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — A teenager was arrested after he drove a BMW through a group of protesters in Greenwich Village Wednesday night at Bleecker Street and West 10th Street, police said.
Justin Burgos, 18, was driving in the area when he honked at a group of protesters who were blocking a street he was trying to travel down. As he began an attempt to pass the protesters, the group surrounded the vehicle, and the teenager accelerated through the crowd, an NYPD spokesperson told Patch.

Police stopped the vehicle shortly after nearby at Grove Street and West 6th Street, arrested Burgos, and treated him for non-life-threatening injuries to his right knee, NYPD said.
NYPD units stopped a vehicle earlier at Grove Street and 6th Avenue that was wanted for driving through protesters in the roadway which caused minor injuries. The Driver is under arrest for Leaving Scene of Accident and Reckless Endangerment. The investigation is ongoing.

The 18-year-old resident of Staten Island was later charged with leaving the scene of an accident with an injury, reckless endangerment, obstructing governmental administration, fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, and a windshield violation.
