WEST VILLAGE, NY — No one expects a man to climb a crane and take off all his clothes, unless it's in Washington Square Park.

"Are you not entertained?" the man bellowed at the crowd gathering beneath him in the West Village park about 7:15 p.m. Monday.

The man proceeded to put on a show of sorts, dancing and moving closer and closer to the edge of the crane platform as people cheered and chanted below.

It wasn't raining on Monday but eyewitnesses told Patch that the man also peed from the top of the crane.

The spectacle took on a darker tone when some in the crowd began to chant, "Jump."

Many walked away, afraid to see what would happen next.

"Let's go," Twitter user Namiii yelled with joy as the man reached the top of the crane. "Now come down and get arrested."

Police and firemen inflated a giant airbag at the man's feet in case he jumped or fell, but authorities were able to simply lower the crane and the man back to the floor.

He was taken into custody with charges pending and didn't suffer any injuries, a police spokesperson told Patch.
