Woman Attacked, Dragged And Robbed In The West Village: Police

A woman was walking near West Street and West 11th Street, when she was attacked from behind by a man on a bike, NYPD said.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A violent robber snuck up behind a woman and knocked her to the ground during a West Village theft detailed by the NYPD on Friday.

The robber attacked the 54-year-old woman near West Street and West 11th Street on Wednesday, about 2:05 a.m., police said.

The attacker rode up behind the woman on a red bike, aggressively grabbed a bag off her shoulder, knocked her to the ground, and dragged her on the concrete, police said.

The man then fled on the bike eastbound on West 11th Street, police said.

The woman had minor injuries, but refused any medical attention.

Police released a photo Friday of the man wanted in connection to the robbery.
