Woman Hit, Killed By Garbage Truck In Greenwich Village

GREENWICH VILLAGE, MANHATTAN — A 60-year-old woman was hit and killed by a garbage truck in Greenwich Village late Tuesday night, police said.

The woman was crossing Sixth Avenue on West Eighth Street when the truck, which was driven by a 46-year-old male, struck her, police said.

She was taken to Lenox Hill Healthplex and pronounced dead, police said. The driver remained on the scene and was not arrested, police said.
