HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Local children sent messages from the heart for the holidays recently.

Hampton Bays Elementary School students recently spent time creating holiday cards for Hampton Bays alumni who are serving in the military, the district said.

Cards will be sent to Korea, Qatar and Washington State, among other places. Students also made cards for the nation's heroes who are patients at the local VA hospital, the district added.
