QUOGUE, NY — A holiday favorite will soon light the stage in Quogue: The Hampton Theatre Company will once again present "A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play" on the stage of the Quogue Community Hall, located at 125 Jessup Avenue, for one weekend only on December 12 to 14.

"Adapted from the timeless Charles Dickens novel by playwright Joe Landry, with music by Kevin Connors, this family-friendly version (approximately 45 to 60 minutes) will recreate for live audiences the convivial energy of a ‘40s-era radio troupe, complete with music and sound effects generated onstage and in the booth," the HTC said.

Complimentary cookies and hot chocolate and a holiday singalong with the troupe will complete the event.

Actors including Andrew Botsford, Rosemary Cline, George A. Loizides, Nicholas Auletti, Scott Butler, Stephanie Moreau and Lindsey Sanchez will each take on multiple roles in the story and present vintage radio commercials, performing in period costumes on a set depicting the studio of the fictional "WBFR" radio station in 1940s New York City, HTC said.

Presented as a Christmas Eve installment of WBFR’s weekly "Playhouse of the Air" series, "A Christmas Carol" depicts the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, the "inveterate miser from London who learns the meaning of charity and kindness over the course of one spooky and miraculous Christmas Eve, complete with visitations by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future," the HTC said.
