Couple Hopes Yard Sale Will Help Pay For Adoption
The sale will be held Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 72 Montauk Highway in Westhampton.

Together for ten years and married for six, Pamela and Angelo Mazzola want what most young married couples do: a family, complete with the sweet sounds of a newborn baby. But after a long, hard five-year journey of trips to fertility clinics and four miscarriages, the couple has decided that to make their dream a reality, they will have to make a move toward adopting a baby.
"We realized that it doesn't matter how it happens as long as we have a family," Pamela said.
So, after many days and nights of talking about the life-changing decision, the couple reached out to hire an attorney to begin a private adoption process — a process that carries with it thousands of dollars — thousands that the couple no longer has after their insurance did not cover the costs of fertility treatments.

But the couple is determined and is looking to raise money for their adoption through a weekend yard sale, set for April 6 and 7 and online through a website, called Giveforward.com in which the couple is asking for money to help fund adoption costs for Baby "Pamgelo." In return, they promise to help others.
So far, Pamela, who is an interior designer and Angelo, a graduate of Westhampton Beach schools, who is an electrician, have received more support than they ever could have imagined.

Their online fundraiser has already generated $5,900 and an outpouring of friends and neighbors have dropped off a variety of items for their fundraising yard sale, including trinkets, clothing, arts and crafts, holiday decorations, game systems, microwaves and event a pair of skis.
"The amount of stuff we got is just so touching," said Pamela. "It's hard to ask people for help, but people have been so amazing and supportive."
And with so much stuff, the couple decided to expand their planned yard sale from a single-day event to a two-day yard sale marathon at the home of Angelo's parents, 72 Montauk Highway in Westhampton.
"When we put our minds together, we can make this adoption happen," said Pamela, who reconnected with Angelo at the Boardy Barn in Hampton Bays one afternoon ten years ago — the pair had known each other as children with their brothers playing on the same football PAL league.
"He asked for my number and we just clicked," she said.
Pamela and Angelo's yard sale will be held Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 72 Montauk Highway in Westhampton. For more information, e-mail Pamela at pgerhauser@hotmail.com.
