East Quogue Kindergartners Join Tiny Hands, Hearts To Feed Animals
The hung edible decorations outside for birds and other outdoor animals this holiday season.

EAST QUOGUE, NY — Even the smallest of children can give back in a big way during the holiday season.
East Quogue Elementary School kindergarten students learned recently about giving, not only to members of their community, but their animal friends outside, the district said.
To start, Anne Culhane’s class first read Eve Bunting’s "Night Tree" about a family’s tradition
of decorating a tree in the forest for the animals, the district said.

Using pipe cleaners, Cheerios and fruit, the students then embarked on their own quest to create edible decorations and hung them for the birds and other animals that might find them this holiday season during cold days and nights.
