Gray Seal, Billy Goat, Set To Be Released In Hampton Bays Wednesday
The seal, originally found in Glen Cove, was initially malnourished and dehydrated — now, he's better and ready for release in Hampton Bays.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A gray seal will find his way home tomorrow.
According to the New York Marine Rescue Center, the seal release will take place Wednesday at Tiana Beach in Hampton Bays at 5:30 p.m.
The male gray seal pup, named Billy Goat, was initially spotted in Glen Cove and was "lethargic, malnourished, and dehydrated," NYMRC said.

NYMRC staff decided to respond to better assess the seal's behavior and opted to bring him back for rehabilitation.
"After about seven weeks of rehab, Billy Goat has returned to good health and has been cleared for release," NYMRC said. "We hope to 'sea' you there as this gray seal pup returns home!"
