Hampton Twin Arts To Open Later This Month After Puff-Back

A sign on the theater says it will reopen on April 12.

The Hampton Arts Theatre in Westhampton Beach is set to re-open after it was forced to close its doors in February after a puff-back.

A sign posted on the theater's marquee states that the theater will show the film, Forty & Two, starting April 12.

The theater temporarily closed its doors on Feb. 10 after a cop patrolling the area noticed heavy smoke coming from the back of the building and alerted the Westhampton Beach Fire Department.

Inside at the time were two employees and the theater manager, who were evacuated.

"They touched the pipes and they collapsed in," said Westhampton Beach Fire Department Chief Chip Bancroft, noting that at the time of the puff-back there were high CO readings.
