Historic Weathervane is Unstable, Says Building Inspector
William Nowak told village board members that the structure is in danger of falling down.

The historic Weathervane House, which sits on Quogue Street, has been deemed unstable by William Nowak, the Village of Quogue's chief building inspector, according to 27east.
The publication is reporting that Nowak made the statement on July 18 to the as part of a discussion regarding a resolution on a project to renovate the house for single family use.
The resolution was approved despite and Mayor Peter Sartorius told 27east that he spoke with the developers and has been assured measures will be taken to shore up the house, which, according to the resolution, will keep its colonial features on the outside but the interior will be revamped with a modern feel.

The project also includes construction of four new 3,600-square-foot dwellings with accessory structures where the Weathervane Motel Units once stood. That project commenced in December.
