LONG ISLAND, NY — A winter weather advisory has been issued for Long Island, with snow expected Tuesday night into Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. Tuesday evening until 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Total snow accumulations is expected to be around 3 inches, the NWS said.

"Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning commute," the NWS said. "Slow down and use caution while traveling. Check local Department of Transportation information services for the latest road conditions."
