Long Island Game Farm Set To Show Lemurs Love This Valentine's Day
Lemurs will receive special treats and guests can learn more about them, in honor of Valentine's Day.

MANORVILLE, NY — The Long Island Game Farm in Manorville is sharing the love with lemurs this Valentine's Day.
In honor of V-Day, the game farm will be presenting the resident black-and-white ruffed lemurs with their favorite fruits in heart shapes, while talking about the non-human primates with guests.
"These lemurs are diurnal, meaning they are most active during the day," the Long Island Game Fam said. "They live in social groups made up of many males and many females, and the females are the dominate gender. They love fruit, have a taste for other foods' nectar, leaves, flowers, buds, fungi, and soil."

The treats and talk will be presented on Saturday, February 17 and Sunday, February 18 at noon. Price is included with park admission.
The Long Island Game Farm recently received a $568,000 grant from Suffolk County to create a universal access trail and renovate the amphitheater to expand programs and offerings. Sadly, the game farm was struck by tragedy when Bobo, a beloved giraffe, died suddenly in October.
