Man Charged With DWI After 2-Car Crash In East Quogue: Police

The Hampton Bays man, who suffered multiple injuries, was arrested Friday, police say.

EAST QUOGUE, NY — A Hampton Bays man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a two-car crash in East Quogue Friday afternoon, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, at about 4:53 p.m., a call came in about a crash at the intersection of Quogue-Riverhead Road and Oakville Avenue.

Southampton Town police responded and upon further investigation it was determined that the driver of one of the vehicles, Daniel Garity, 52, was found to be intoxicated; he was arrested, police said.

Garity suffered multiple injuries and was transported to the hospital for further treatment; the driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital for evaluation of a minor injury, police said. Garity was charged with one count of misdemeanor DWI and multiple traffic violations, police said. Garity was released on an appearance ticket to appear in court at a later date, police said.
