Man Who Refused To Leave Hampton Bays Bar Arrested: Police

He resisted arrest and was also found in possession of a controlled substance, police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A man was arrested Monday night after he refused to leave a Hampton Bays bar and was found with a controlled substance, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, at about 8 p.m. , a call came in about the man, 41 of Hampton Bays, who refused to leave the Station Bar on Shinnecock Road.

When officers arrived, the man resisted arrest and was placed under arrest; he was also found in possession of a controlled substance, police said.

He was arrested and transported to the Southampton Town Police Department headquarters for processing, where he was charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, all misdemeanors, police said.

He was issued a desk appearance ticket to return to the Southampton Town Justice Court at a later date, police said.
