The Westhampton Beach Fire Department now has four new firefighters.

The Westhampton Beach Fire Department has four new members, bringing the department's membership to 86 firefighters.
According to Chief Chip Bancroft, James Czachur, Bryan Hoffman, Gypsy Adams and Mario Mendoza have graduated the Suffolk County Fire Academy, each completing 110 hours of firefighter training. They are now all certified as level I firefighters.
"Myself and the other chiefs are very proud of this accomplishment," said Bancroft.

The fire department, according to Bancroft, is always looking for new members and is currently holding a recruitment drive with a goal to gain another 24 members, bringing the total membership to 110 — the maximum number of members the department is allowed to have.
