The first annual Oyster Festival, held in Westhampton Beach on Saturday was a success, says the Kiwanis Club, which hosted the event at the Village Marina.
"The festival went great," said Natalie Boyle, of the Kiwanis Club. "Lots of happy people attended and enjoyed themselves. Vendors were glad to be there and the kids had a fun time painting pumpkins, visiting the touch tank with Cornell. and watching the pirate show. We, as Kiwanians, are very happy for a job well done."
The festival, according to Boyle, raised money to fund Kiwanis scholarships and programs. Money will also be donated to Cornell Cooperative Extension for oyster studies and programs.
