WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — Westhampton Beach High School senior Meghan Pomroy's academic excellence has been honored: She has been selected as a winner of the National Merit ADP Henry Taub Memorial Scholarship.

Pomroy earned the award after being named a finalist in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program for scoring in the top percentile of the 2023 PSAT, the district said.

"I never expected to win the scholarship," said Pomroy, who will be attending McGill University in the fall to study chemistry.

Aside from her impressive scores on the PSAT, Pomroy is an AP Scholar with Distinction and will graduate with an AP Capstone designation on her diploma. She is also a member of her school’s National, Math, Science, Language and Tri-M honor societies. Additionally, she is president of her school’s GSA, vice president of drama club, co-vice president of the choir, treasurer of the pep band and co-editor of Seascapes literary magazine.

"The Westhampton Beach School District congratulates Meghan Pomroy on this outstanding achievement," school officials said.
