Westhampton Beach Welcomes New Assistant High School Principal

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — The Westhampton Beach School District has opened its arms to welcome a new assistant high school principal.

The Westhampton Beach School District Board of Education has appointed Alyssa Tracey to the post, effective Jan. 5, district officials said.

"The district is pleased to announce the appointment of Alyssa Tracey," said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Carolyn Probst. "Her expertise and dedication to educational excellence will serve our students and staff well."

Tracey joins the Westhampton Beach School District from Oceanside High School, where she served as the dean of students, school officials said.

She was previously a summer school assistant principal and administrative intern at Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School. She started her career at the same school as an English and ENL teacher; she has also taught English at Bellport High School, the district said.

Tracey holds a Bachelor of Arts in English secondary education from St. Joseph’s University, a Master of Arts in teaching English to speakers of other languages from Long Island University, a Master of Arts in special education with an annotation in severe and multiple disabilities from St. Joseph’s University and a post-master’s graduate certificate in educational leadership from Stony Brook University, district officials said.

"I am honored to join the Westhampton Beach community and am eager to support the district’s proud tradition of excellence," said Tracey. "I am committed to fostering meaningful growth and expanding opportunities that enable all students to reach their fullest potential."
