2 Brothers Die, Parents Injured In LI House Fire: Police

Two brothers, 24 and 16, died in the blaze, and their parents were injured, police say.

WEST ISLIP, NY — Two brothers died and their parents were injured in a tragic early morning West Islip house fire, police said.

According to Suffolk County Police, homicide squad and arson section detectives are investigating the fire, which broke out on Udall Road at 5:53 a.m.; a 911 caller reported a fire at the residence, police said.

The two brothers who lived at the residence, Matthew Kreamer, 24, and Kyle Dilegame, 16, were located dead inside the home, police said.

Joseph Dilegame, 54, and Toni Kreamer, 53, who also lived at the residence, were transported by the West Islip Fire Department to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, police said.

Toni Kreamer sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and Joseph Dilegame was subsequently transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

A preliminary investigation determined the cause of the fire to be non-criminal, police said. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
