About: Each month, the public library offers courses to local residents who are learning to drive or looking to improve their driving ability.

The Defensive Driving Course is held each month with the next class scheduled for Wednesday, August 17, and Thursday, August 18, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each night. The fee is $40 per person and applications can be obtained at the library’s Adult Services desk.

For new drivers, the library offers the New York State Pre-licensing course each month. The next session is scheduled for Thursday, August 4, from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Fee for the class is $40. Those attending the course must have a valid Learner’s Permit.
